According
to Indian media reports Bollywood film ‘Queen’ has taken the lead spot
at the box office beating Madhuri’s ‘Gulaab Gang’ and Ali Zafar’s ‘Total
Siyapaa’.
‘Queen’
has garnered heaps of praise from critics and celebrities alike
including Karan Johar, Sonakshi Sinha, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone and
Amitabh Bachchan.
The comedy-drama, featuring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao in the leads, raked in over Rs 10 crores over the weekend.
Despite
opening up on a weak note with earnings of around 1.7 crores till
Friday, its business picked up pace on Saturday (3.5 crores) and Sunday
(4.7 crores) thanks to positive word of mouth and good reviews.
Meanwhile
‘Gulaab Gang’ and ‘Total Siyapa’ failed to attract much audience to
cinemas, and only earned around Rs 8.9 crores and 3.7 crores
respectively over the weekend.
