In Gulaab Gang, Madhuri Dixit Nene (Rajjo) sets up an ashram whose inmates wear pink sarees, and with help of the local women, they arm themselves with axes and sickles to strike out at evil, so that justice prevails.
But when the party she was campaigning for reveals its true colours, Rajjo realises that she has to fight a new battle, as she faces politician Sumitra Devi (Juhi Chawla).
Amidst the corruption and power game, Rajjo challenges Sumitra at the ballot box.

An action sequence in the film required Madhuri Dixit Nene to jump high in the air and land on a truck. The director thought the scene would need many retakes. However, she completed the scene in just 2-3 takes and the crew finished shooting before sunset, much before the anticipated deadline.
Even after director Soumik Sen insisted that a body double should be used for dangerous stunts, Madhuri Dixit Nene refused to comply, and did most of the dare-devil stunts herself.
