Natia Mushaira to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi

Saturday, January 11, 2014 - Islamabad—Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) organized a ‘Natia Mushaira’ to commemorate Eid Milad un Nabi and pay tribute to the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). Renowned poet Anwar Masood while presiding over the Mushaira said, disseminating and following golden teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is an important component of our religion.

Dr. Ehsan Akbar was the chief guest. Abdul Hameed, Chairman, PAL presented their keynote address. The proceedings were conducted by Junaid Azar. Anwar Masood said “besides Naat it is also our prime responsibility to apply teaching of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in our daily lfie.”

He said “We have to give message to West that we not only preach peace and brotherhood but also actual followers of this message”. Anwar Masood said that ‘Naat’ is an important component of literature and few people are blessed to write it.

Dr. Ehsan Akbar said that Naat is a reliable reference in Urdu Literature and its an honour to write and recite Naat. Naat poetry not only honoured Urdu Literature but also introduced a new genre on a spiritual level, he added.

Abdul Hameed, Chairman, PAL in his remarks said there is need to get guidance from the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). “Today we gathered to memorize that elegant and great personality who can never be praised in words.”
