John Abraham finally married the girl he wanted to marry – Priya Runchal.
While wags indicate that the marriage announcement came when it was believed that Priya was in the family way, John’s spokesperson says that John had already indicated that he would marry by the end of 2013 or in 2014 and hence, the news.
Proof of the pudding was his tweet that confirmed the marriage where he referred to his girl as Priya Abraham.
John has had a multitude of relationships in his life –be it Riya Sen, a decade-long relationship with Bipasha Basu that almost culminated in marriage and finally his whirlwind romance for three years and a culminating marriage to Runchal who seemed to be a huge stabilising factor in the actor’s life.
But the sudden decision for the marriage is not new in recent times.
Of late, many celebrities from Bollywood have preferred to keep details of their wedding a secret and spring a surprise to the ever enthusiastic paparazzi.
Veena Malik
Controversy’s favourite child Veena Malik also sprung a surprise not just on the media but also on her alleged boyfriend and manager Pratap Singh by announcing her marriage to Dubai-based businessman Assad Bashir Khattak.
Malik who has earlier been linked to Pakistani cricketer Mohammed Asif, actor Ashmit Patel and director Hemant Madhukar made her intentions clear that she wanted to and indeed wed the businessman by the end of 2013.
Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan too was sure that she did not want the prying media around her life and quietly married Siddharth Roy Kapoor, while the media played guessing games on where the location of the wedding could be, by putting together a string of clues.
Kareena Kapoor

Just a wee bit time before that, Saif Ali Khan and his newfound begum Kareena Kapoor also did the same when they took the media on a ride trying to figure out where the location of the wedding was. The media did know a lot, but then that did not seem enough. In fact, they were stumped by the idea that the marriage was taking place in October after having speculated for far too long about when the couple will be united in wedlock.
Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan’s first marriage was with Reena Datta long ago when he ran off to marry her even as his film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was about to release.
But then the QS Cutie made it tough for the media a few years ago when he remarried – this time it was one of the assistant directors from his films Kiran Rao. The media ran behind the Khan all the way to a hill station a few hundred miles from Mumbai called Panchgani and were kept at bay speculating what was happening inside.
But then John’s sudden decision to marry may have stumped people a lot more.
