Fizzy drinks and putting on weight… some doubt

The surprising results of a recent American study have considered the context of the link between putting on weight and drinking sugar laden drinks in teenagers.

In fact, despite observing subjects over the course of a five year period, scientists were unable to establish a clear link between increased body mass and the frequent consumption of fizzy drinks and similar beverages. Consequently, these drinks would seem to have less impact on the risks of obesity than previously thought.
