Samina Baig and her brother Mirza Ali scaled Mount Vinson which is 4892m high in Antarctica on January 18 at 1 a.m. This was revealed by Alpine Federation of Pakistan Spokesman Karrar Haideri while talking to ‘The News’ here on Saturday.
Karrar Haideri said that he received an SMS from Mirza Ali that mentioned that the siblings have summit Mount Vinson in Antarctica which is the highest point of Antarctica and the coldest region of the planet.
Samina Baig who became the first Pakistani woman to climb Mount Everest last year is currently on ‘Adventure Diplomacy Expedition’, together with her brother Mirza Ali Baig. Under this expedition, the two sibling climbers will attempt the highest Seven Summits on the world’s seven continents.
Samina and her brother through ‘Adventure Diplomacy’ connecting and empowering women through mountain adventure, would also to promote the fallen tourism in Pakistan. The siblings have a mission to hoist the Green flag on the Seven Summits in Seven Continents, to let the world know Pakistani women are empowered and not oppressed.
While talking exclusively to ‘The News,’ Samina’s brother Mirza Mahboob said that we are overwhelmed by the successful summit that Samina and Mirza Ali has done today. “They have hoisted green flag on the mountain and made Pakistan proud once again.” They intend to climb the seven highest points of the seven continents.
