KARACHI :  Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi Chief Afaq Ahmed’s name was removed from the Exit Control List and he was allowed to go abroad.
Spokesperson for MQM-Haqqiqi, Aftab Hassan, told The Nation that Afaq Ahmed would soon leave for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah to offer gratitude to Allah Almighty. He would go to London after performing Umrah to meet various political personalities, the spokesman said.
He said the MQM-H chief’s name was put on the Exit Control List (ECL) in 1998 and, after 16 years, the Sindh High Court ordered removal of his name.
Informed sources say Afaq Ahmed will join MQM in near future as negotiations between the leaders of both the parties are in progress.
It is worth mentioning here that in 2011, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain accepted written apology from Amir Khan, the chief of his own faction of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi, and ratified his reinstatement as a party worker. In 2013, Khan was made a member of the MQM Coordination Committee.
