Where were you when you were first told that Kate Middleton was seen wearing your dress?I was in the Blue Mountains for the weekend and my phone reception kept dropping in and out. Then suddenly I had all these messages and texts and found out. It was an amazing thing for us and we felt really lucky
What elements of the dress do you think suited Kate?
I thought she looked beautiful – the dress was suitable for the occasion, she looked elegant but it was still modern and youthful.
What was the response to the dress and your brand after the sighting?The response that we had was immediate and it travelled from around the world. We had people we knew in all sorts of places contact us saying they had seen the coverage.
How does it feel to be one of very few Australian designers Kate wore during her Australian-New Zealand Royal tour?We feel really fortunate to have been given the opportunity. Obviously it was a great thing for our brand globally, but on a personal level it gave so many people around Simone and I such a thrill. The Royal Tour was such a positive event in Australia and to be part of it for even a moment was really exciting.
